Please sign in to see more.
Kari has been researching her Lemons family for over 25 years. She published a book in 2014 containing her research, called "Lemons of Eastern Tennessee, Descendants of Levi Lemmons b1785." In 2015 she founded a new family association called the John Liming Society, named after the immigrant ancestor. You can find the John Liming Society at http://john-liming-society.org. John Liming was born about 1647 and died before Nov 1697. The first record attributed to him was the 1675 land deed in the Whorekill District of Delaware, a territory of New York. By 1680 he had moved to the Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Once there he married and had 3 known sons. Two of those sons produced all of the 1000+ descendants in the US today. The name evolved to 13 variations; Liming, Leming, Lemon, Lemons, Limings, Lemings, Lemming, Limming, Lemmon, Lemmings, Limmings, Lemmons, and Lyming. There are descendants with each of these surname spellings and vary by State.
